Chateau Appony is located in the village of Oponice, north of ancient Nitra. It is a hotel with a touch of history, luxury and a rare Baroque library, thanks to which it is today the only stylish hotel of its kind in Slovakia. The Renaissance manor house of the Apponyi family was the seat of this important Hungarian family for almost six centuries, which, in addition to diplomacy, was also famous for its rich family library. After a costly reconstruction in 2007-2011, the manor regained its original appearance. Today it serves as a hotel and provides accommodation in 21 rooms and 7 suites. It is surrounded by a beautiful 9-hectare park with rare trees, dominated by western sycamore trees or rare ginkgo. There are two new tennis courts and a park pond.
